When we want to take care of our health and control our weight, we try to consume food and healthy drinks … but that do not always delight our taste buds.
Most people eat kale and quinoa for their health, not for taste. At least, on the fruit side, practically everyone finds his account. We all have at least one favorite fruit! In terms of drinks, the best is obviously water. Avoid alcohol
Still, if you like grapes and wine, good news for you!
In recent years, we often hear about the health benefits of red wine, as well as the prevention of cardiovascular disease.
But wine could be beneficial for the body on another level. Indeed, it could help us lose weight, thanks to a key ingredient.
According to the well-known Mayo Clinic, red wine contains antioxidants called polyphenols.
One of them is known as Resveratrol and researchers at Washington State University have discovered that one of its many uses is to convert white fat into beige fat.
But what is beige fat?
For many years, scientists thought we had only two types of fat: white fat, which stores fat for energy and brown fat, which burns it to produce heat.
But Professor Min Du from Washington State said researchers have discovered a beige fat, which is created when white fat changes its role and begins to burn lipids like brown fat does.
Professor Du’s team has discovered that resveratrol can stimulate this conversion, which could help prevent obesity if it happens enough.
In healthy quantities, white fat is useful because it ensures that we do not burn the energy our body needs too quickly.
However, if we eat more than necessary, our white fat ends up containing extra lipids, which can lead to diabetes.
Reservatrol can help prevent this overload by increasing oxidation, which allows excess lipids to burn.
According to the Mayo Clinic, some research suggests that reservatrol can also prevent damage to the heart’s blood vessels and help reduce the accumulation of “bad” low-density lipoprotein cholesterol while allowing the right kind to flourish.
